February Bellydance Fitness Classes
SharQui Workout: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout.
Level 2 SharQui Workout: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout but kick up a notch with more intricate moves.
SharQui Fundamentals: A slightly slower-paced SharQui workout that dives deep into fundamental dance technique. Ideal for beginners and anyone serious about mastering the core movements of bellydance.
SharQui Styles: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout but fused with an inspiration of another dance genre. Each week will be a new dance style fusion.
SharQui HIIT: Move back and forth between intense bellydance moves and weight training.
Flexibility for Bellydance Technique: Unlock your joints and mobilize your muscles toward better freer and pain-free dancing. Build the flexibility and strength needed to support high-level dance technique.
SharQui Core: This class focuses on bellydance that works the abdominals and back with a cardio workout.
Crash Choreo: Learn a 1-2 minute choreography that gets your heart rate up.
SharQui Workout Party: It’s a different themed dance party every week with Laylianah. Dance your worries away in this improv-based, stress-busting workout.
February Intensives & Special Topic Classes
Performance Coaching with Oreet
Mondays at 11:00am EST on 2/1, 2/8, 2/15 & 2/22
In this intensive we will be work on choreography ideas and performance skills to enhance your dance. By the 4th week you will have a 1-minute minimum routine choreographed that you feel great about!
$25 for February Fitness Pass holders, $45 for non-pass holders
Zills n’ Rhythm with Oreet
Tuesdays at 11:00am EST on 2/2, 2/19, 2/16, & 2/23
In this intensive you will learn a minimum of 3 rhythms and sounds. By the end of the intensive you will be able to play the rhythms in sequence.

Bellydance in Heels Part 2 with Oreet Tuesdays at 5:00pm EST on 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, & 2/23
Dancing in heels has long been a staple in bellydance – specifically in the Lebanese styling. It’s a skill that can be quite tricky for performers who’ve spent years training in bare feet or flat shoes. In this intensive you will learn where to put your weight, how to stabilize as well as turn. A short routine will be incorporated.
*A character dance show or ballroom shoe no higher than 2.5 inches is ideal for this class. If not then a comfortable high-heeled shoe. $25 for February Fitness Pass holders, $45 for non-pass holders
February Workshops
Flowing Frames with Carol
Sunday, February 7th at 1:00pm EST
Floppy hands? Hunched shoulders? T-Rex arms? Sometimes we are so focused on our dazzling hipwork that our arms develop a mind of their own. In this open-level workshop learn handy tips and tricks to tame those wandering arms into flowing frames that highlight and accentuate our gorgeous isolations. We’ll review classic bellydance arm positions, and drill flowing them seamlessly with our hip and torso movements. $7 for February Fitness Pass holders, $17 for non-pass holders
Free Introductory Class: 8 Essential Moves with Oreet
Friday, February 12th at 1:00pm EST
Dance your way to a core and cardio workout while learning the 8 Essential Moves of bellydance. Perfect for beginners! This class is free, but registration is required as space is limited.
Mastering 3/4 Shimmies with Laylianah
Saturday, February 13th at 4:00pm EST
The 3/4 Shimmy is probably the most challenging Shimmy in BellyDance to master. In this workshop, Laylianah will teach you all things 3/4 Shimmy! You will learn several different ways of breaking down this challenging move, as well as multiple variations such as the Hagalah Shimmy and the Hip Bump 3/4. This workshop will be a great companion for Laylianah’s Wednesday and Sunday SharQui Virtual Studio workout classes. February’s Move of the Month is 3/4 Shimmies. That means each block in the Wednesday/Sunday choreography will feature the 3/4 Shimmy in some way, helping to make practice lots more fun for you! $7 for February Fitness Pass holders, $17 for non-pass holders
Reggaeton Bellydance Fusion with Angel Roman Saturday, February 27th at 1:00-2:30pm
This Dynamic workshop is designed for the intermediate to advanced bellydancer who is seeking more diversity and versatility in his or her bellydance training and performance. Did you know that Reggaeton has its very own rhythm which is almost identical to a popular commonly danced rhythm in bellydance? Can you tell the difference between Reggaeton of the 90’s early 2000’s and now? Do you know the birthplace of Reggaeton and how it came to be? Angel will answer these questions as well as share her joy of Reggaeton without sacrificing the art of bellydance. $35
