Traditional Arab music has an intimate ambience and aims at evoking “tarab”, or ecstasy, in the performers and listeners. Zahra will start the class with an explanation of what tarab music is and how to dance to it. We will then learn a (short) choreography to classic Arabic music with a blend of lyrical and layered movements, accents and deep undulations focusing on essence and expression. (Intermediate/Advanced)

International performer, luminary instructor, and choreographer, Zahra is globally renowned for her knowledge, authenticity, and dedication to the art of Middle Eastern dance (bellydance). Raised in raqs sharqi from a young age, Zahra is known for her musicality, flawless technique, and elegant style. She has trained and influenced many of today’s international stars!
