September Bellydance Fitness Classes

SharQuí Workout: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout.

SharQuí HIIT: Move back and forth between intense bellydance moves and weight training.

Stretch, Mobility & Core: Unlock your joints and mobilize your muscles toward better freer and pain-free dancing.

SharQui Core: This class focuses on bellydance that works the abdominals and back with a cardio workout.

Crash Choreo: Learn a 1-2 minute choreography that gets your heart rate up.

SharQui Workout Party: It’s a different themed class every week with Laylianah.

September Weekly Special Topic Classes

Performance Coaching with Oreet: In this class we will be work on choreography ideas and performance skills to enhance your dance.

Zills n’ Rhythm with Oreet: Learn different sounds with zills (finger cymbals) while moving and playing along with some rhythm jam.

Ballet Barre & BellyFusion Combos with Jill: This class focuses on a traditional Ballet Barre to help strengthen the feet, legs and arms, then moves into center work combos that fuse SharQui movement with ballet concepts.

Nia with Marisa: Move your body for the sake of exploring everything it carries and knows, to feel freer and stronger when dancing SharQuí.

Improv: Dancing without a Net with Laylianah: Improvisation (aka choreography-free dancing) is an essential skill for any belly dancer. Belly dance is, at it’s core, a social dance. Something to be done at parties and celebrations. No one has ever gone to a party with a fully rehearsed choreography in tow! You just let the spirit move you! This does not come naturally to all of us, but it is a skill that can be learned. This class will feature exercises that will get you improvising with ease! We will cover skills that can be used for a party or the stage. By the end of the session, you will look and feel like you put the “pro” in imPROv!

Drum Solo & Conditioning with Jessica: Drum up some fresh moves with Jessica in this drum solo study class. We will focus on a short choreography, improvisation exercises, and conditioning for stamina and precision. All levels.

Zills n’ Dance with Oreet: Take the sounds and rhythms you know from practicing with zills and put it all together with a dance routine.

September Special Topic Workshops

Dancing to Middle Eastern Rhythms part 2 with Laylianah
Saturday, September 12th at 4:00pm
In this workshop, you will learn the difference between rhythm and beat. Laylianah will show you how to use some of her signature SharQui combos to 3 more rhythms: Saidi, Baladi, and Masmoudi.

Together We Thrive: New Alabina Choreography
Sunday, September 27th at 1:00pm EST
Henni will teach you a bellydance choreography that fits beautifully with Ishtar’s signature modern Mediterranean fusion style.
