You Are Enough

You Are Enough

I’ll never forget chatting with one of my students in the studio after teaching class when my 2 kids were young and I took them to class with me. My little guys were 4 and 2 at the time, and running around the studio, through my legs and pulling on me.

Her kids were older and I mentioned I was so looking forward to those years of “freedom”. She said something to me that ALWAYS stuck with me: “Each stage brings new gifts and new challenges.”

I smiled… because she was *so* right. I mean you can relate this to everything, but I would love to relate this to our bodies, health and fitness journey!

No matter where you’re at, there’ll always be gifts and challenges. Yet it’s so easy to just focus on the challenges and what we don’t like about ourselves… and sometimes assume that the grass is greener on the “other side”.

Well here are three truth smacks that have made a big difference for me while navigating the wild world of health, fitness and my new “mommy” body (yes!):

Truth smack #1 – Happiness is a choice.

You can always find the negative and positive in every situation. What you choose to focus on will hugely impact your happiness and life. I know that it’s not always easy to see the positive as our mind draws on previous experiences to interpret every new situation. But the past doesn’t need to call the shots! So change the story…cool?

Truth smack #2 – Health and Fitness is the greatest self-development journey – ever.

I mean, the inner work you need to do to just show up requires you to grow in ways you never thought possible. Sure there’s the wild learning curve of fitting it into your schedule, figuring out what exercise formats work for you, and what foods to eat. But the biggest part of the journey is the evolution of YOU.

So roll with it – it’s SO worth it.

Truth smack #3 – You’ll never stop making mistakes.

Look, we ALL screw up. Just get back up and do it again. If you aren’t screwing up every now and again then you’re not growing. Mistakes lead to successes.

The key? Forgive yourself and learn from it. It will put you that much closer to where you want to be and how you want to feel.

We cool?

Good.

Stay Passionate,

Oreet
